We have been supporting people with persistent and complex mental health illnesses and we understand how your NDIS journey can be confusing. We have supported people with Bipolar, Depression, Anxiety, Schizophrenia, ASD, Personality Disorders, PTSD, Eating Disorders and more.

    Capacity Building

    Independent Life Skills

Our Independent Life Skills supports are delivered under the NDIS Capacity Building category and are designed to help participants develop the practical skills, confidence, and knowledge needed for greater independence in everyday life.

Unlike Core supports, which provide direct assistance with completing tasks, Capacity Building Life Skills supports focus on teaching and developing abilities that participants can use independently over time. The goal is to build confidence, increase autonomy, and reduce reliance on ongoing support wherever possible.

Our team works alongside participants to develop personalised skills and strategies that support both current needs and future life transitions.

    Areas of support may include:

    • Learning to use public transport safely and confidently
    • Developing daily living and household management skills
    • Building meal planning, cooking, and nutrition skills
    • Learning budgeting, shopping, and money management
    • Developing routines, organisation, and time management strategies
    • Building confidence when accessing community services and activities
    • Strengthening communication, self-advocacy, and decision-making skills
    • Preparing for education, employment, volunteering, or changes in living arrangements
    • Increasing independence within the home and community

By focusing on skill development rather than task completion, our Independent Life Skills supports help participants build lifelong abilities that promote greater choice, control, confidence, and independence across all areas of life.
