The Your Journey Compass team focuses on delivering support in a collaborative approach and person-centred approach. We understand the impacts of living with a psychosocial disability and the impacts on a person`s daily life. Our mission is to provide you with the opportunity to change your direction to improve your life and wellness.

Psychosocial disability is a term used to describe a disability that arises from a mental health issue. Not everyone diagnosed with a mental illness has a psychosocial disability. The NDIS provides funding if your mental illness severely impacts your daily life.

Your Journey Compass provides support for those who have been accessed by the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and have been considered eligible to receive support for a Psychosocial Disability. Your Journey Compass follows the Psychosocial Recovery-Oriented Framework to provide quality support to improve people`s lives. Service provision is offered under reasonable and necessary and supports you in achieving your goals as specified in your plan.

Our Team

Sabrina Louise

Manager & Allied Health Practitioner

Sabrina is a registered Rehabilitation Counsellor. Sabrina has over 14 years of experience supporting people with psychosocial disabilities. Sabrina has worked in private setting and Not-for-profit organisations on the Gold Coast. Sabrina holds a Bachelor of Psychological Science, Master of Rehabilitation Counselling, Grad Certificate in Autism Studies and Adv. Dip in Children`s Services. Over the years Sabrina has supported people with severe and persistent mental illnesses using a person-centred approach. Sabrina is a Trauma-informed counsellor and works collaboratively with participants and stakeholders to better provide individualised support. Sabrina provides support as a Rehabilitation Counsellor and Coordination of Supports and runs capacity-building groups.

The team

At Your Journey Compass, our team is made of workers from a variety of background qualifications and life experiences. Our team are qualified mental health workers that follow a trauma-informed care approach. We pride ourselves on hiring people who not only specialise in mental health but also have a passion for sports, nutrition, family care, gardening, walking or enjoy being out and about. Our team will focus on individual interests to best provide support according to what participants like and are able to introduce different options for activities and outings during community support.
